    • Pleasantly Surprised At The Power .

I'm not sure what those that say the car is way under powered are expecting but I have 0 trouble being onto the interstate , switching lanes , whatever , during rush hour traffic that's going bumper to bumper at 75+mph . From a stand still the 2.0 engine doesn't seem to be the problem but perhaps the CVT or computer as it acts like an older turbo from a stand still . Floor it and the car just kinda goes "what?" for about a second or 2 then takes off like a turtle that needs a nap until reaching about 10mph and then it's like it says "oh , we need to go fast" and accelerates quickly . Anything starting above 20mph I have lots of zip . The interior has been a bit of an adjustment as I came over from a truck so head room and shoulder/back room have been interesting . I have to remember to lower the seat when driving or my head rubs the ceiling slightly and the wrap around, like a hug, bucket seats and my wide shoulders didn't get along for about a month . All the bells and whistles the SEL model included have been fun , for the most part , to learn but the lane keep wants to keep the car a little left of center so I don't use it often . I'm still plenty safe in my lane but prefer just right of center if not center . If I have to gripe about anything so far it's the windshield wipers on the front . Though the car is only a few months old they act like they are years old and dry rotted whenever I have to use them . The standard speakers took a little getting used to but they don't sound half bad . FM radio reception is ok , SiriusXM has nothing of interest to me so I use my phone and Android Auto for the most part . Dual climate control rules! My favorite feature of the car is the headlights . They are very bright without being the least bit uncomfortable to the oncoming traffic unless the high beams are on . Coming from a truck that turned like a school bus to this thing that turns on a dime has been a blast , especially when parking in tight areas . Front wheel drive had also been a new thing to get used to with it being SO MUCH MORE responsive . When I first started looking for a new vehicle anything but Hyundai and Kia was completely off my radar but with so many publications giving this car such accolades and awards it grabbed my attention . The denim pearl blue I ended up purchasing sealed the deal for me .

I’m surprised by the one Star reviews. This car is great. I have the gas powered cheap version. I was out the door at 24,200$ with maintenance free for 3yrs, and power train warranty for 10yrs. Mine has a sport mode that makes it significantly quicker than the basic mode. I get about 35mpg and so far it’s been a really wonderful vehicle. Don’t overpay or buy the EV version though. This is a good basic car that should last forever. I read some other people’s reviews and they seem made up lol.

Excellent car. My wife and I had a 2021 model and, traded it in yesterday for a brand new kona. The 2026 kona is 1,000 times better than the 2021 model. Handles better, suspension rides smoother, plus the interior is even more comfortable than the 2021 model.
